Tickets on Sale for Reckless Kelly Softball Jam
Deep Discounts Offered for VIP/General Admission Austin, TX — Award-winning roots-rock band Reckless Kelly will again co-produce and co-host with Ryan Sanders Entertainment on Sunday, April 22, 2012, its 4th Celebrity Softball Jam, the family-oriented event that combines a fun-filled (some would say madcap) nine-inning softball game followed by a centerfield concert with proceeds going to benefit area youth sports groups. The first round of tickets with deep discounts (50% off through December 31) go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, December 15; purchase them online at www.roundrockexpress.com or www.rkcsj.org, by phone at 512.255.BALL (2255) or in person at The Dell Diamond box office. Tickets in the VIP section are $15 December 15-31, $20 Jan. 1-March 31, 2012, and $30 April 1-day of show. General Admission tickets are $10 December 15-31, $15 Jan. 1-March 31, 2012, and $20 April 1-day of show. Meanwhile, the list of musicians, athletes and media personalities who will join Reckless Kelly in the celebrity softball game and/or the six-hour, two-stage centerfield concert afterward is growing. It now includes Wade Bowen, Cody Canada & the Departed, Micky & the Motorcars, Bo Bice, Pauline Reese, Mary Cutrufello, Midnight River Choir, Cat Osterman, Brooks Kieschnick, Kirk Dressendorfer, Richie Sexson, Chris Mosser, Andy Langer, Travis Lofland, Mark Murray, and Dudley & Bob. The Celebrity Softball Jam is a natural extension of band members’ love of the game (and singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in more than a dozen Major League ballparks) and was conceived by Reckless Kelly, whose members are keenly enthusiastic about baseball; and the Round Rock Express, which had long had an interest in bringing music to The Dell Diamond. Led by brothers Willy Braun and Cody Braun, the band wanted to create a signature event with friends from the worlds of music and sports combining America’s pastime and music to benefit Austin’s youth. In three years, the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam has hosted more than 15,000 fans and raised $100,000. The Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam, created and produced by Reckless Kelly in conjunction with Ryan Sanders Entertainment, is a registered 501C-3 through the Reckless Kelly Charitable Youth Foundation. Ryan Sanders Entertainment is a division of Ryan Sanders Baseball, owner/operator of the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate) and the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros Double-A affiliate).
